At Ikon Technologies, we have always believed that the best ideas don’t come from a vacuum - they come from the front lines.

That is why we recently hosted our 2026 Ikon Dealer Advisory Board (IDAB) in Arlington, Texas. We brought together some of the most influential voices in the automotive industry to do more than just talk about the future; we wanted to build it with them.

A Company That Listens

The "connected car" is a term many people hear, but for a dealership, it represents a fundamental shift in how they relate to their customers. During our day-long session, we didn’t just present a roadmap; we opened the floor. We listened to the "boots on the ground" perspective from owners and operators who navigate the complexities of modern retail every single day.

Our philosophy is simple: we create collaboratively. By bringing our valued customers into the development process early, we ensure that every piece of technology we build solves a real-world problem. Whether it is removing technical friction for floor staff or enhancing the way a driver interacts with their vehicle, our partners' feedback is the compass for our innovation.

Validating the Future

One of the most exciting parts of the IDAB was sharing our future concepts for validation. We believe in showing our "work in progress" to the people who will actually use it. We discussed the evolution of our platform from a high-tech location tool into a comprehensive "Retention Engine" - a loyalty infrastructure designed to keep the relationship between the local dealer and the driver stronger than ever.

We explored new ways to use real-time vehicle data to provide peace of mind to families, and we brainstormed how to make the dealership experience more seamless through interactive showroom technology. By validating these ideas with our advisory board before they hit the market, we ensure that when an Ikon product launches, it has already been "dealer-approved."

Reclaiming the "Dealer Garden"

A major theme of our meeting was the importance of data sovereignty. In an era where vehicle data is often sequestered by large manufacturers, Ikon stands as a champion for the local dealer. We are building an ecosystem - or what we call the "Dealer Garden" - where the data generated by the vehicle stays with the business that sold it. This allows dealers to offer a level of personalized service that was previously impossible, ensuring that customers are supported at the exact moment they need help.

Solidifying Partnerships (Texas Style)

Of course, we couldn’t let our partners leave North Texas without making sure they were "properly equipped" for the journey ahead. Between strategy sessions, we loaded everyone up with custom-fit cowboy boots and hats - a small way to say thank you for their big ideas.

We capped off the event by heading over to a Texas Rangers baseball game (the Rangers won!), where we ate some great food and enjoyed the local atmosphere together. It was the perfect environment to move beyond the whiteboard - solidifying business relationships and genuine friendships that will lead to everyone's success going forward.

The Road Ahead

The energy in Arlington was a reminder of why we do what we do. It wasn't just a meeting; it was a partnership of innovators. We left the session with a sharpened roadmap, several new pilot programs, and a reinforced commitment to our core mission: providing an "Operating System for the Dealer."

We want to thank all of our participants for their transparency and their vision. If you are looking to work with a company that values your voice, prioritizes your data, and builds for your future, then Ikon Technologies is the partner you’ve been looking for.

The future of the dealership is being written right now - and we are proud to be writing it together.
